The Anne Lloyd Gallery, the first floor crown jewel of the Madden Arts Center, hosts exhibits from internationally renowned artists to some of the best local talent our area has to offer. NORWAY: International Arts Exhibit
June 5th - July 31st, 2013
DAAC's International Arts Experience 2013 presents NORWAY: The Marilynn and Dean Madden Collection. Featuring art and artifacts from Norway, this exhibit paints a picture of the culture’s traditional lifestyle, customs and traditions. It is an honor to present this life-long collection on loan from Marilynn Madden.
The exhibit features:
Rosemaling, the national decorative painting of Norway.
Kubbestols, primstavs, porridgers, mangletres!
Trolls (another national symbol), hardanger embroidery, metalwork, china!
Paintings by the late Sigmund Ǻarseth, one of Norway’s premiere contemporary artists.
