July 07, 2021

As a lead up to the inaugural "Devon on Tap: Decatur Craft Beer & Music Festival," the Decatur Area Arts Council and the Decatur Parks Foundation are hosting the Game of Cups Tournament at Decatur's three local breweries. It is a multi-week competition for teams of two comprised of relay-style races designed around red-Solo-Cup-inspired games.

Three teams from each the qualifying rounds will go to the finals at the Devon on Tap event to compete to win season passes to the the 2022 Devon Amphitheater.

“We’re aiming for a fun competition where Minute to Win It meets American Ninja Warrior,” says Jerry Johnson, executive director of the Arts Council.

For a fee of $30, a team of two, or “cupple,” will race against the clock, playing five to seven games in a relay fashion. Competitors can look forward to stacking, tossing, bouncing, dropping, flipping, and more with their plastic cups. No drinking is required.
