Corks & Forks Is Going “ON TOUR” in 2021

April 06, 2021

DAAC is taking the “show” on the road and encouraging everyone in the community to patronize their favorite area restaurants during the week of April 19-24, 2021.

The Decatur Area Arts Council is again unable to host an in-person version of its annual fundraising event Corks & Forks. Instead, the Arts Council will be taking the “show” on the road and encouraging everyone in the community to patronize their favorite area restaurants during the week of April 19-24, 2021.

Arts Council Executive Director Jerry Johnson explains, “We want to show our appreciation to the local restaurants that have offered up their signature dishes to our Corks & Forks guests over the past 20 years. We simply couldn't have done it without them.”

Of course, the Arts Council is not asking for a fee or donation from restaurants to be a part of the TOUR. Many have struggled due to COVID, so during the third week of April we're asking people to dine in, take out, or order delivery.

A few local restaurants have found themselves capable of offering to help the Arts Council during Corks & Forks “ON TOUR” Week. Some are offering special “Corks & Forks” menu items and others are even donating a percentage of the bill to benefit the Arts Council.

Also, in the spirit of past Corks & Forks events, the Arts Council is hosting an online auction and raffle with lots of prizes.

Look to the Arts Council website (DecaturArts.org), along with Facebook and Instagram posts and DAAC emails, to get involved. You'll find everything from a list of our restaurant partners to online auction and raffle details.

Thank you so much to our Corks & Forks “ON TOUR” sponsors: Staley Family Foundation and Alan & Beth Frigy.

“We look forward to seeing everyone at Corks & Forks again, but this year, getting folks to support our local restaurants is a great way to welcome springtime,” says Johnson.
