Gallery - Erich Vieth: Life After Leaf - February 2024
In this exhibit, digital artist Erich Vieth celebrates the creative afterlife of the exquisitely beautiful dead trees of Yellowstone National Park.
Date
February 2024
Location
Anne Lloyd Gallery
Exhibit: February 2-22, 2024
Gallery Hours: M-F 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Sa 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
After shooting photos in the park between September 2020 and October 2021, Vieth spent a pandemic “sabbatical” creating digital artwork from the images. He interprets the trees of Yellowstone as sculptures in and of themselves, manipulating the images to tease out form and texture, which might not otherwise be obvious. You will never look at dead trees in the same way again after experiencing his perspectives. The photography, as well as the collection in book form, will be available for sale.
