Senior Arts Programming from the Decatur Area Arts Council

The Decatur Area Arts Council is excited to offer Senior Arts Programming designed to provide engaging, creative experiences for adults in senior living communities, community centers, and related organizations. Our classes are led by experienced teaching artists and are adaptable to a wide range of abilities, interests, and accessibility needs.

Senior arts programming supports creativity, social connection, and lifelong learning. Whether your group is looking for a one-time creative activity or an ongoing series, we work with you to design a program that fits your participants and your space.

Program Options

• One-time art classes or multi-session series
• On-site programming or group outings to the Arts Council
• Projects adapted for varying skill levels and abilities
• Instruction provided by trained teaching artists

Projects may include drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, and other hands-on art experiences. We are happy to recommend projects based on your group’s interests, and abilities.

Accessibility & Accommodations

We strive to make our classes welcoming and accessible. Programs can be adapted to support mobility needs, seated participation, limited dexterity, and other accommodations. Please let us know about any specific needs when submitting your class request so we can plan accordingly.

Pricing

Base Pricing:

• $100 for class of 10 participants
• $10 per additional participant

Travel Fee:

• $25 when DAAC travels to your location

Materials:

• Paper- and cardstock-based projects are included in base pricing
• Projects using upgraded art surfaces (such as canvas or other specialty materials) may require an additional per-person materials fee
• Organizations may choose to provide upgraded materials to avoid additional cost

Final pricing is determined based on group size, location, materials, and the number of classes requested.

To request a class or series, please complete our Senior Arts Programming Class Request Form using the link above. The form includes an overview of our pricing structure and allows you to share details about your group, scheduling preferences, and any accessibility needs.

Once your form is submitted, we will review the information and generate an official quote, which will be sent to you via email.
