Every gift is important as we “Color Our Community!”
Art classes, gallery exhibits, children’s theatre, lunchtime concerts, and murals are just a few of the ways the Decatur Area Arts Council (DAAC), through its leadership and assistance, creates a vivid splash that transforms our community.
To ensure Decatur continues to grow into a more colorful and vibrant place, the Arts Council has launched our Annual March Membership/Fund Drive. Behind a theme this year of “Decatur Arts Color Our Community!,” we have set an fundraising goal of $35,000 for 2019.
We invite everyone to join the hundreds of people whose donations help create programs where there is a need, like Arts in Central Park and the Performing Arts Series for Students, as well as strengthen the efforts of other area arts groups, like the Decatur Municipal Band and Barn Colony Artists.
Long-time contributor Dr. Alan Frigy explains why he supports DAAC. “I give to the Decatur Area Arts Council because of my passion for art. And also, because of a message sent to me by a former mentor who said, ‘You get out of a community, what you put into it.’ Supporting the Arts Council has enriched my life greatly.”
Gifts can be made by mail (DAAC, 125 N. Water St., Decatur, IL 62523), by phone (217-423-3189), or online (www.decaturarts.org/membership), which includes a convenient recurring gift option for scheduling a sustaining donation rather than a one-time gift.
