Performing Arts Series for Students (PASS) Is Back for 2022-23!

August 31, 2022

After a two-year COVID hiatus, we're back for the 2022-23 school year!

After 50 years of offering high quality shows, selected for children Pre-K through 6 grade, the Performing Arts Series for Students (PASS) program was forced to take a two-year COVID hiatus. But we're back for the 2022-23 school year!

For those who are uncertain what PASS is... if you, your child, or your grandchild took a school class field trip to Millikin University’s Kirkland Fine Arts Center to see a show, that was likely a PASS performance. Designed to open doors to learning through the performing arts, approximately 7,000 area children attend these shows each year. All PASS performances are held at Kirkland, giving students the often first-time experience of being on a college campus in a world-class facility, opening their young eyes to a wider range of possibilities.

The shows offered this season are:

Area teachers and homeschool groups can reserve seats for the program(s) that best suit the needs of their class. The first date reservations will be accepted is Tuesday, October 4, beginning at 8 a.m. by calling 217-423-3189.

If you would like your child to take advantage of this excellent opportunity, contact your school’s principal and/or teachers. Homeschoolers are also welcome.

All shows are only $5 per student, except for The Orchestra Comes Alive on March 2, which is free.

Thank you to our sponsors; Amherst F. Hardy Foundation, John Ullrich Foundation Trust, Kirkland Fine Arts Center, Homefield Energy, Illinois Arts Council Agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
