New Original Christmas Song Celebrates Decatur

December 18, 2020

The release of an original Christmas song specifically about and for Decatur.

The Decatur Area Arts Council is excited to announce the release of an original Christmas song specifically about and for Decatur. Recorded with care and presented with love, it is called “Christmastime in Soy City.” The song is intended to be a festive greeting card to our community and to provide some Christmas cheer, especially during THIS holiday season. It is filled with obvious Decatur references, such as the Transfer House, Chicken Car, and cheese toasties. (The single artwork below includes Santa enjoying a cheese toastie).

It is available on most online platforms to stream or to purchase (YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, Apple Music.)

Originally written and performed for a local Christmas show in 2016, this 2020 recording is a collaboration with the musicians from Millikin University’s ROCK U program. Proceeds generated by the song will support the Decatur Area Arts Council and ROCK U.
