The next mural to be painted for the Decatur Mural Project in 2019 is underway on the corner of Eldorado and N. Waster Streets.
The next mural to be painted for the Decatur Mural Project in 2019 is underway on the corner of Eldorado and N. Waster Streets in downtown Decatur, IL (south facing wall). The mural is sponsored by a gift from Mark & Susan Avery. Additional materials and equipment assistance are being provided by Sunbelt Rental and Lowe's.
The building owner, with the assistance of the DAAC Public Art Committee, have selected a design by local artist Eric Weatherford. He expects to complete the project within the next couple weeks.
This will be the second mural Weatherford will paint for the Decatur Mural project. He previously painted the mural at 100 S. Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL in 2017. Since that project, Weatherford has gone on to create his own mural painting business called Oddwall Painting and paint a number of murals around Central Illinois.
