Decatur Area Arts Council incorporated in 1968 and we plan to celebrate!

2018 is a major milestone for the Decatur Area Arts Council, marking the 50th year of the remarkable journey that DAAC has made with the Decatur community! Created by local visionaries – artists, teachers and Millikin University staff – Decatur Area Arts Council incorporated in 1968. We plan to celebrate!

50th Anniversary Kick-off
Friday, February 2, 2018 - 5-7:30 pm

The public is invited to help kick-off the celebration of the 50th anniversary during February First Friday Gallery Walk.
Relive arts memories as you browse through the timeline display celebrating 50 years of DAAC history.
• Share your favorite Arts Council stories and also tell us what you'd like to see in the future.
• Chat with the evening's Guest of Honor Orv Graham, founding board member of DAAC.
• Local artist Nick Beery will be doing a silkscreen printing demonstration.
• Free admission

Sharing Memories and Aspirations with the Community
February - July

Throughout these months, DAAC will be sharing stories via print, broadcast and social media to honor the past and celebrate the present, with fascinating facts from its history and testimonials from many of those who made it happen. Check for the latest updates online at www.decaturarts.org.
