Virtual Arts in Central Park will “go live” on Friday, September 18, the date when the downtown event was originally scheduled.
Arts in Central Park, coordinated by the Decatur Area Arts Council and Gallery 510, will be held virtually in September 2020.
“We are saddened that we cannot have our regular, amazing, on-site event. COVID-19, and the ever-changing landscape it creates, has made it clear that we were not going to be able to provide our artists and attendees with the caliber of event that they have come to expect,” said Jerry Johnson, Executive Director of the Decatur Area Arts Council.
Virtual Arts in Central Park (VAICP) will be presented through the Decatur Area Arts Council’s website www.decaturarts.org. It will provide participating artists with a VAICP web page that includes sample photos of their work along with direct links to their websites, Facebook pages, and email addresses. Some of these artists will even present virtual demonstrations and studio visits. Purchases will be arranged directly through the artists! You may email the artist, call them, or buy from their website by following the links on each page.

While nothing can replace the in-person activities of our annual event, we hope this creates some excitement and support for our artists.
