Johnson Simon is an expressionistic artist who uses heavy dark lines with bright vibrant colors that express deep motion and flare. Born in Turks and Caicos in 1990, then moved to Florida, and now residing with an artist in residency at the Harrison Arts Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born with the umbilical cord around his neck, this resulted in a coma, and he now fights the daily challenges of having Cerebral Palsy. Johnson has since graduated with his master’s degree and spends his days teaching art to students with developmental disabilities. He has currently worked with Special Olympics Indiana in creating promotional art for the Carel Erskine Story in the form of schoolbooks about the former Dodgers baseball star.
First Friday Gallery Walk: Friday, August 2, 5-7 pm.

Gallery Field Trips: Open to school and community groups of all ages – Includes a guided tour through the gallery exhibit and a related art project in the studio with an instructor. By appointment during gallery hours (M-F, 9 am-4 pm). Ask about available scholarships!
