Mural To Be Painted on E. William St., Decatur, Beginning July 6.

June 20th, 2018

The first of three murals to be painted for the Decatur Mural Project in 2018 will be at the 200 block of E. William St., Decatur, IL (north wall of the building off the parking lot on the south side of the street, across from Doherty's).  The mural is sponsored by a grant from the James Millikin Trust. Additional materials and equipment assistance are being provided by Lowe's and Sunbelt Rentals.

The DAAC Public Art Committee and building owner have selected a design by artist Collin Salazar, based out of Los Angeles, CA.  Beginning on July 6, 2018, he will likely take several days to complete the mural.

Collin Salazar is a self-taught artist.  His vision continues to evolve from experimentation with various watercolor techniques, textures, and materials to create powerful portraits and expressions.  He has showcased his work at multiple art exhibitions, live painted at major music festivals, and, most recently, begun creating large scale murals.  Find him online at collinsalazar.com/
